Fisher Studio & Gallery

A collection of fine and decorative arts of local and national importance. The museum owns what is probably the largest public collection of the works of William McTaggart and Scottish Colourist S.J. Peploe existing outside the National Galleries of Scotland. The collection also includes a significant number of works by the Glasgow Boys. The ground floor features an award winning permanent local history display. A lively changing exhibition programme of art, craft, history and photography runs throughout the year.

The museum café features a fine display of Wemyss Ware pottery, the colourful local ceramic ware which was produced in the town between the 1890s and 1930 and has a great selection of homebaking.

Opened by John Fisher in May 2000, the Fisher Studio & Gallery in Pittenweem is now in it's seventh year. It shows work by a wide range of contemporary artists and craft workers, most of whom work in Scotland. While the majority of the exhibiting artists are well established and popular with collectors, the gallery also encourages new talented artists.
